Keep in sealed polyethylene or steel vessels in dry and cool places ( with proper ventilation and away from direct light. Keep it away from copper and copper alloys. Must be kept away from acidic pH environment, too.
This product is not inflammable. However, in high temperature produces poisonous gases such as CO2, SO2 and SO3. Long term exposure causes corrosion in ironwork. In case of contact with eyes and repeated or constant contact with skin will cause irritation. Inhaling its vapors will cause nose, throat and the upper part of the respiratory system burning and in case of swallowing will cause intestinal inflammation and burning as well as nausea and diarrhea.
In detergents it is used as foaming and cleaning agent. Because of neutralization by Triethanol Amine, it has mild cleansing properties and is used in formulation of body and hair shampoos. Also since it contains hydrophilic poly ethylene group, is milder to skin and eyes and causes less skin inflammation.
Its low sensivity to water hardness and the high solubility are other good properties of this surfactant.
